SGDC2014 was tremendous fun! I did a lot better this year compared to the last 2 events, which is always A Good Thing (tm)!! ^_^ Thank you all so much for the constant support, I am extremely touched especially by my ardent friend and customer, CH :) She bought up nearly half of my new range of items hee hee :P *FLYING KISSES!!*

I saw so many familiar faces, and some new ones, but I will write a proper review and thank you post when I finish up some requests.....I would so hate to keep them waiting any longer! :( But meanwhile, I have opened up a new store at

Etsy has been good to me, and I will still list some items there, but the fees are exorbitant and I feel drained each time the bill comes...T-T And since most of the BJD customers are already following my Facebook and blog, why not sell my works independent of Etsy ey? :)

For those who are disappointed that some of the more popular items have sold, like the takoyaki sets...fret not, I will clear up my docket and hope to hold another pre-order similar to the ramen bowls, possibly in December 2014/January 2015!

Hiya! September was a busy month and a number of things happened, one of which was an old injury flared up, which delayed this commissioned order. My dear customer was very patient and also gave me room to work on this in my own time, I really appreciate that as I really do not like to rush my work so I can produce my best work possible!

These were the hardest to sculpt. The only molded part was the top of the shell, even so, it took a pretty long time to sculpt the detailed master. Each of the 40 legs/claws were individually sculpted as I could see no way to do it with a mold to give the kind of detail required. Also, working with polymer clay is really straining on my wrists and shoulders, so I had contemplated working with air dry clay for all my future projects, but I am not confident in sculpting with ADC :( Anyway, I like the results of these, Ahma is so happy at how realistic they look too, she had been coming in every day to my work space to ask me if they're done XD

My initial reference photos provided by my customer depicted crabs with claws a little smaller than these, but as I often reference real life and many other photographs, it got stuck in my head that the claws could be a little larger and meatier....luckily my customer liked the size of them, but I would have re-done them if required as these were custom request items, and I aim to please!

I quite enjoyed making these, more than expected, because they are free-form and freed me from having to obsess over uniformity. :D 3 of the oysters are removeable, and the rest permanently affixed so they won't slide all over the place.

mmmmmmmmmm. i did detail it to have a bit of sheen, in fact, the fries have even a little bit of 'salt' on them, but I can't seem to capture the detail on camera, so this is the best you'll get XD There are many more WIP photos in my facebook page, in my WIP folder...

I love eating Gindaco's takoyaki! For those who are going to SGDC2014, I will make a few extra sets, but international customers FRET NOT! Although I have closed custom requests for 2014, there will be a pre-order for November 2014 after I finish up some orders....:)

 ...just like there are no bad photos, only lazy photographers (guilty) :X It is no coincidence that I always itch to play with dolls on weekends, my clay order hasn't arrived and so I decided to take a break from commission work and toy (hurhur) with the Canon again.

 The photos still need a lot of improvement, out of the 93, only 9 weren't over/under-exposed, grainy, etc. I still struggle with not moving the camera while pressing down on the button, but I can't afford a remote, so it's best to just keep practicing......

I kept laughing to myself while adjusting her outfit and hair, she does look like a bored housewife doesn't she? Poor Saffron, upkeep is such a b*tch :P While taking at this angle, I kept wishing I had a nail polish or buffer set for her to play with!!

I quite enjoyed this session, though my wrists and shoulder hurt quite a bit due to the heavy camera. I will have to figure out a larger space to set up the tripod!

SGDC2013 next Sunday!

 The countdown has begun! Next Sunday, Nov 10th 2013 will be the day of SGDC 2013 (which i've posted twice previously) and there's lots more to do yet!

Here are items in 1:3 scale miniature, fun fair foods for BJDs :D They are made out of air dry clay, acrylic paints and epoxy resin. I have sealed all of them to make them splashproof (but not waterproof!)

These are just 'sneak previews' of the funfair or carnival theme, which is the theme which Asuka and I have worked together on :D She has done all the illustrations for this collaboration and you can find previews of what she has on offer over on her blog!

Lovely cool weather we're having today :) It's been too warm and hazy lately, and being shut in with the windows meant my fan was working overtime (and the air-conditioning, fwoarrr)....so rain is definitely welcome :)

There have been quick sales on a few items already, and some were reserved by customers who had requested I make some newer desserts, so apologies if you had your heart set on them :( 

Also, will no longer be accepting custom requests (except for the one reserved slot!) as I prepare for a change in my ....what is it..'art direction'? things around me have always been chaotic, and so I want a more purposeful and calming work environment. This will not only help me heal up (chronic hand/shoulder/wrist injuries and other wonky bits), it will also allow me more time to work on projects which have been neglected. especially in 1:12, the preferred scale for me to work in.

This doesn't mean this dolly blog will be abandoned, no! Hope you've enjoyed the photos :) It's almost time to feed Eva (my maltese, for those who don't already know :P) her medicines....she's still recuperating from a bladder stone surgery last wednesday, and boy is she attention-starved! I've finally figured out how to feed her the pills with little struggle, but she's now holding out eating her kibble for treats (which I use to bribe her to take her meds....)...fussy and naughty as ever :P

Okay, these aren't for the carnival, they are part of a commission which my very patient and lovely customer had asked for! I've already showed the pastry/cakes portion (mostly via my Instagram and Facebook page), but the commission also included a wide range of foods, many of which I have never made in mini before, so alot of time was spent experimenting on textures and new techniques, partly why the whole commission took so long as I re-made quite a number of items as I was dissatisfied with the results. :X
